Eat More. Weigh Less. Get Healthier.

Picture
_You probably already think we're crazy, and we totally are. It's not because of what we eat though. We're not tree huggers or animal rights activists. We're advocates for Human Health. People have a right to basic things, like shelter, good food, good water and good health... without it costing an arm and a leg. (most people probably consider "good health" having most of you body parts.) Healthy people are happy people and everyone deserves to be happy.

The answer to health is so shockingly simple, many people think it's impossible to accomplish. Don't eat animal products. Before you say, "That's f*cking outrageous." think about how outrageous is it that every year 500,000 Bypass surgeries are performed in the US? Not to mention they're about $100,000 a pop. (That makes heart disease a 5 BILLION dollar per year industry. Wallets are getting fatter right along with America's waistline.)

Is life threatening illness, major surgery, fistfulls of medications every day that make you feel like garbage, a giant fat ass and cancer worth having your chicken nuggets and cheese burgers? We Think not.

So how the hell can you make a change this "radical"? It doesn't happen overnight, and if you expect that for yourself, you've already failed. We both come from a strong, meaty background. We're sisters. Our Dad was and still is a hunter and a fisher. Every night for dinner it was moose or salmon, basic Alaskan staples. It's taken us both over 25 years to figure it out and we're still learning new things and overcoming food (and other) related challenges every day. Life is about obstacles and how we deal with them. That makes us who we are. We know the whole world will never be vegan. The truth is, if what we have to share makes one person decide not to eat meat even one time, then we're successful.

Some Facts that are Kinda Scary...

_... scary but true:
  • Americans spend about 2.2 trillion dollars per year on health care.
  • In the early 1900's Americans ate an average of 120 pounds of meat per year. In the year 2007 that rose to 222 pounds.
  • Obesity, diabetes, heart disease and high blood pressure are all diet related illnesses and are preventable.
  • 40% of Americans are obese. Not just overweight. OBESE.
  • The average American consumes 605 pounds of dairy                products per year.
  • Every minute in the US a person dies from heart disease.
  • Lipitor is the most prescribed drug EVER.
  • Studies show definitively that animal proteins feed the growth of cancer cells. It is also reflected that plant proteins can reverse cancer growth.
  • HEY BOYS! Japan 1958, a culture with a mostly plant based diet, there were 18 prostate cancer related deaths. That same year in the US (population approx. 2x that of Japan) there were over 14,000 prostate cancer related deaths.
  • Only 1 - 2% of cancer is caused solely by genetics.
  • Cholesterol is only produced by animals and is therefore only contained in animal based foods. Your body does not need dietary cholesterol.
